Licence terms
Every template on this site is sold as a licence. A licence is permission to use one template for one client’s work, and it includes one download.
1. What a licence allows
- Using the template to prepare, adapt and complete documents for one client, or one matter for that client. If you are buying for your own business, your business is the client.
- Editing, copying and re-using it within that client’s work as often as the work needs: drafts, revisions and versions.
- Colleagues in your organisation working on that same client’s work may use the copy you downloaded under the licence.
- The documents you produce from it belong to you and your client. They may be signed, sent, filed and kept without restriction.
2. What it does not allow
- Using the template for a second client or a separate matter. That needs another licence.
- Sharing, selling, sub-licensing, publishing or giving away the template itself, edited or not.
- Adding the template to a precedent bank, template library or document-automation system that is used beyond that one client’s work.
3. One download
Each licence includes one download of the Word document. In case a download fails, it can be repeated for 24 hours after it first starts. After that, downloading the template again (for example for another client) takes another licence.
4. Buying several licences
Buy one licence for each client. Licences of the same template are cheaper in quantity, and a whole jurisdiction or legal area can be bought at a bundle discount: a bundle gives one licence of each template in it, on the same terms. You can note which client each licence is for in your account; that note is your own record.
5. Not legal advice
Templates are starting points. Check each document against the current law of your jurisdiction, and against your client’s circumstances, before relying on it.
